The Secret of Success
28 January 2013

One of the best things about being a designer is that you get to help people realise their ideas - to work with them as they turn their vision into reality. These experiences are sometimes flights of fancy, often peppered with false starts, generally take longer than you think but always a privilege to be a part of.
What unites these clients with the army of successful pioneers that have gone before is one crucial personality trait - the willingness to see it through: Thomas Edison developed thousands of prototypes before he found the right material for the light bulb filament; Charles Goodyear spent nine years developing the vulcanised rubber that is now used in every walk of life; and Sir James Dyson spent four-and-a-half years with over 5,000 revisions before the Dyson was ready to take on the mighty Hoover.
So next time you have an idea you believe in, find out the steps you need to take and take the first one.
The secret of success is simple: just do it.

Testimonials
"Potting Shed took the time to understand the product and our purpose and created a clean, fun and fresh look which our clients comment on regularly. They then took the brand and product to the next level for us by creating our product video and website, and the storyboard and visual process that the team created really brought it to life."

Jenny Winspear
COO Anova
"We worked alongside Potting Shed to create an identity that embodies who we are, and why we do what we do. These projects have contributed to a more connected team who believe in our organisation at a deep level. When your people believe in what you do and take ownership over their culture and workplace, growth is the natural outcome."

Jim Gilligan
