A purpose for Potting Shed

We have recently sponsored the wonderful inaugural Build Back Better, the year-long educational course for thirty of Jersey's up-and-coming financial leaders. The course is free, with six modules presenting the deeper and resonating aspects of sustainability, sustainable finance, and purpose-led strategies for ESG and CSR. 

Our very own Ed Prow is leading the charge for Potting Shed, including two keynote talks on how brand and purpose are not only intrinsically linked, but also more important now than ever before. 

Build Back Better is the brainchild of Dr Emiko Caerlewy-Smith, CEO of Kit Consulting. Emiko and KIT are leading experts in business/management consultants pioneering the focus of Build Back Better - finance/ESG/Sustainability. During Lockdown, Ed and Emiko had a (socially distanced) walk where she divulged her dream to put on this initiative - and Ed's response was, “Well, let's make this happen!” It took under 30 seconds for us to agree to collaborate on this project. We have been utterly humbled to be sponsored by Rathbones, who have helped support and shape this course. 

Build Back Better is into module three, looking at the deeper trope of ‘purpose’ in businesses. The thirty successful applicants span a colourful cohort of Jersey's financial eco-system, and they are getting their hands dirty with the topical considerations of a sustainable finance ecosystem with ESG integration, and presenting their own back to the group, to feedback into their own corporations.

The events have borrowed and combined global knowledge and expertise and these have been channelled into compelling content to empower Jersey's industry. The course aims to provide content that will begin to engineer a meaningful impact from our little island that packs a punch on a global platform as well.
